Station / Airport guide
Birmingham Airport, in the Midlands region of the UK, is a popular starting point for many travellers to the UK and Europe. Especially if they want to avoid the capital city. Previously known as Birmingham International Airport, it now owns its international status with flights going to destinations as varied as Dubai and Dublin, Islamabad and Inverness. without adding it to its name. The Airport station, however, has kept the International in its name.
Birmingham Airport is 13km from the city centre, and it has one terminal. It used to have two up until 2011 but then merged them in a major refurbishment. The train station is in the airport grounds, and accessible via a free monorail system which takes just a few minutes. The airport has free wifi for a set duration of time.
Transport and connections
Birmingham International Airport train station has direct connections with over a hundred towns and cities in the United Kingdom. Take the monorail Air-Rail Link to the train station, where you can take a 13 mins train to Birmingham City Centre. There are also regular direct trains to London, Manchester and Shrewsbury.
