Airport train station guide

Leonardo da Vinci Airport, also known as Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, is Italy's largest airport and Rome's main international airport. It is located 35km south-west of Rome city centre.

Leonardo da Vinci Airport has its own train station, located close to the arrival and departure terminals. Free wifi is available throughout the airport.

Transport and connections

The fastest and most convenient way to travel between Leonardo da Vinci Airport and Rome city centre is by using the Leonardo Express train (tickets bought locally). It is located just alongside the main terminal of the airport and leaves every 15 mins. Travel time between the airport and Rome is just 30 mins.

From Leonardo da Vinci Airport train station, travellers can also catch trains to other major Italian cities, including Florence, Genoa and Pisa.

Another travel option from the airport is the FR1 metro service connecting Fiumicino Airport with many of Rome's other train stations, including Roma Trastevere, Roma Ostiense, Roma Tuscolana and Roma Tiburtina.

Taxi stands and car rental services are available at Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5.

Once arrived at Rome Termini train station from the airport, Trenitalia and Italo high-speed trains take travellers to major Italian cities like Milan (3 hrs 10 mins), Naples (1 hr 13 mins), Florence (1 hr 26 mins) and Venice (3 hrs 48 mins).
