Airport train station guide

London Heathrow is not only the UK 's largest airport in terms of traffic but also one of the world's busiest ones. It is located 25km west of London's city centre. There are four terminals at Heathrow airport, but strangely no Terminal 1. This was closed in 2015, and so the terminals in operation are 2, 3, 4 and 5. Trains serve all of these terminals. London Heathrow is also connected to central London by the main London Underground (or Tube) system which can be included in the price of any UK train ticket.

Transport and connections

London Heathrow is accessible by the Heathrow Express train, which is bookable on our site. It takes 15 mins from London's Paddington station to Heathrow Airport. The train serves all terminals but it takes a few more minutes to reach terminals 4 and 5 when coming from central London. Read more about how to change trains in London.. If you want to travel onwards within Britain by train, the best route is to go from London Heathrow into central London and take a train from there. This is also the case for taking the Eurostar from London to about .Paris,.Brussels,Amsterdam ,Lille, and more. In this case, taking London Underground's Piccadilly Line is best as it goes through London St. Pancras International station where Eurostar is based. Terminals 2 and 3 are within walking distance of each other, through underground walkways. Free shuttle trains run between Heathrow Central Underground station (Terminals 2 & 3) and Terminal 4 or Terminal 5. To go between Terminals 4 and 5 go to Bus Stop 7 for a free transfer.
