Frecciarossa, Italo, EuroCity or Regional Train
This journey across Italy's Veneto region is full of variety. The fastest trains on the route are Trenitalia Frecciarossa or NTV Italo trains. The route is also served by occasional EuroCity services that have come from Switzerland or Austria. In addition, there are slow trains linking the two cities, taking up to an hour longer for the journey than the fastest services.
Travelling east, there are excellent views to the north as the train cuts through the vineyards of the Soave region on the stretch from Verona to Vicenza. Beyond Vicenza, the route skirts the Berici Hills before reaching Padua and finally Venice.
Verona Porta Nuova to Venice

Few short trips in Italy offer such different landscapes as the train ride from Verona to Venice. Trains leave from Verona Porta Nuova station. Arriving in Venice, they pause at Mestre station and then continue on a bridge over the lagoon to terminate at Venezia Santa Lucia. The latter is definitely the better choice for the centre of Venice.
The very fastest services run non-stop from Verona to Venice Mestre. Other fast trains may make a couple of stops along the way. A handful of the regional trains serving this route make just five stops, but the majority of these local services stop at least a dozen times.
