Frecciarossa, Italo, Eurocity or Regional Train
This journey across the Veneto region is full of variety. The fastest trains on the route are Trenitalia Frecciarossa or NTV Italo trains. There are also occasional EuroCity services bound for Switzerland or Austria plus plenty of slower regional trains. The latter may take two hours (or even more) for the journey.
The route west takes in Padua, then skirts the Berici Hills to reach Vicenza. On the stretch from Vicenza to Verona, there are excellent views of the Lessini Hills to the north as the train cuts through the vineyards of the Soave region.
Venice to Verona Porta Nuova
Few short hops in Italy offer such different landscapes as the train ride from Venice to Verona. The train leaves from Santa Lucia station in Venice and bridges the lagoon to reach Mestre on the mainland. Arrival in Verona is at Porta Nuova station.
Some Frecciarossa and NTV Italo trains run non-stop from Venice Mestre to Verona. Other fast trains on this route may make a couple of stops along the way. A handful of the regional trains serving this route make just five stops, but the majority of these local services stop at least a dozen times.
