About Rail Europe
Rail Europe is a global travel technology company and the world's leading distributor of European train tickets and rail passes.
Europe's railways are vast, fragmented and rarely speak the same language. For more than 90 years, we have helped make them travel as one.
One name for European rail
Europe has one of the world's most extensive railway networks, and one of its most fragmented. Hundreds of operators run their own routes, timetables, fares and ticketing systems, many of which do not connect. A single trip across two or three countries can mean juggling several booking systems, languages and currencies. And as new operators enter the market, the landscape only gets more complex.
Rail Europe exists to make sense of it. Since selling its first French rail journeys to North American visitors in 1932, we have spent more than 90 years bringing Europe's railways together in one place. Today, we are the reference brand for booking train travel across the continent, trusted by millions of travellers and the travel trade to turn that complexity into one seamless journey.

Our story
European rail has always crossed borders. Booking it hasn't always been so simple.
Rail Europe was founded in 1932 to bring French rail to North American travellers. More than 90 years later, that same idea has grown into something much bigger: bringing Europe's railways together and making them easier to access, wherever a journey begins. From our first tickets sold in New York to today's digital platform, our story has followed the evolution of European rail itself.

Mission, vision, & purpose
Our Mission
To remove borders from European train travel, before, during and after the journey.
Europe's rail network is fragmented. We bring it together, combining technology with rail expertise and human support so travellers can plan, book and manage journeys across borders with confidence.
Our Vision
To be the world's most trusted name for European rail.
We believe rail connects more than cities. It connects people, places and ideas. Our vision is to make travelling Europe by train simpler and more accessible, wherever the journey begins.
Our Purpose
To make the most sustainable way to travel Europe the natural way to travel it.
Rail is already one of the most sustainable ways to explore Europe. Our role is to make it one of the easiest too, so more people choose the train and discover more of Europe along the way.
Our values
Passion
We are, first and foremost, train people.
We know the network, care about the journey and bring decades of rail expertise to everything we do.
Diversity
More than 40 nationalities, one international team.
Our different backgrounds and perspectives help us understand and serve travellers around the world.
Sustainability
We believe the greener choice should be the easier choice.
By making European rail simpler to book, we help more travellers choose the train.
The lowest-carbon way to travel Europe
Rail is the most environmentally friendly form of motorised passenger transport in Europe. Trains emit only a fraction of the greenhouse gases of the same journey by car or plane: taking the train instead of a domestic flight cuts emissions by around 86%, and choosing high-speed international rail over a short-haul flight can cut them by around 97%.
