Listen up, train fans: you can now save 15% on Interrail and Eurail Global Passes and select One Country Passes starting…now!
This sale has expired. Stay on top of all Rail Europe deals here!
This is such a major deal that after finishing this blog, the next thing the Rail Europe team will be doing is purchasing one of these Passes for ourselves. Why? Because they give travellers access to more destinations across Europe than any other ticket or Pass out there – plus they are super flexible for your travel plans. Let’s get into it because this sale isn’t going to last forever!
The Eurail and Interrail Global Pass
For travellers who want to max out their distance travelled and cities visited, the Eurail/Interrail* Global Pass is the best value for your money as it allows you to access 33 countries.
Know you want to get a Pass but can’t use it right away? Not a worry! Flexibility is key when it comes to these Passes. Not only can you select the start date (it must be within 11 months of purchasing), but you can also hop on and off trains with little to no planning needed on ‘travel days’.
These Passes operate with a certain number of ‘travel days’ which you will select at checkout. During these 24-hour travel days, you can hop on any train covered by the Pass. Most of these tickets are included in the cost of your Pass. Certain trains, like high-speed and night ones, do require a reservation, but your Pass gives you a discount on any booking needed.
*The main difference between the Eurail and Interrail Passes is that the Eurail Pass is for non-EU residents while the Interrail Pass is for EU residents.
Eurail and Interrail One Country Passes
If you only want to travel extensively through one country in Europe, consider selecting a One Country Pass. Just like the Global Pass, you can customise the Pass duration, class and travel days.
Get inspired: journeys to put on your travel bucket list
Travelling with a Eurail or Interrail Pass not only can save you a lot of money but also offers flexibility and freedom during your European journeys. However, sometimes having so much freedom can be overwhelming. With seemingly infinite places to visit, where does one start? Here are some journeys easily accessible with a Eurail and/or Interrail Pass, according to our knowledgeable staff.
A history lesson by way of train
History buffs, this one's for you. Embark on a 'history tour' tracing the former Iron Curtain across Europe. Travel and learn along this historic divide that spanned from World War II until 1991, at the end of the Cold War. This voyage not only offers a first-hand look into the pivotal moments of European history but also presents stunning natural wonders and exciting cultural experiences along the way.
📍 Lübeck, Germany
📍 Harz Mountains, Germany
📍 Berlin, Germany
📍 Weimar, Germany
📍 Passau, Germany
📍 Vienna, Austria
📍 Trieste, Italy
Start your adventure in Lübeck, with its iconic medieval architecture and unbeatable marzipan. Then journey towards Berlin through the gorgeous Harz Mountains, which served as a natural barrier during the Cold War. In Berlin, visit pivotal landmarks of the Cold War era such as the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie.
Continue to Weimar, where you can visit the homes of literary and artistic powerhouses Goethe and Schiller. Next, find yourself in Passau, where three rivers and cultures (German, Austrian and Czech) converge. In Vienna, you will find endless touristic opportunities, including palaces, museums and concerts. Finally, arrive at Trieste, the westernmost edge of the Iron Curtain, to experience a fascinating mix of Italian, Slovenian and Austrian influences with a view of the Adriatic Sea to boot.
This experience isn't just for history enthusiasts—it's a must-have for all travellers with an adventurous spirit and time to spare in Europe.
