It is a very easy journey by train from Geneva Airport to Visp (for transfers to Saas-Fee and Zermatt). This is a magnificent journey for sightseeing. On a good day, you’ll have wonderful views across Lake Geneva to the Alps beyond. There is an especially lovely stretch east of Lausanne as the railway cuts through the Lavaux vineyards. Just after Montreux you’ll see the famous Château de Chillon on the lakeshore to your right and then the train follows the broad valley of the River Rhône up through Valais vineyards to Visp.
