AVE/Alvia/Avant/Altaria
Travelling by train from Madrid to Córboba is simple. Frequent trains speed between the two cities. The AVE trains and Alvia services are the fastest, while Avant and Altaria services are slightly slower.
This is part of Spain’s very first high-speed rail route. Heading south from Madrid, you’ll see Toledo away to the right. The route then cuts through the Toledo Hills and, a little later, slices through the rugged Sierra Morena.
Madrid to Córdoba Central

Catch a direct high-speed train from Madrid Atocha to Córdoba Central station. Most trains run non-stop between the two cities. Some make up to three stops along the way, including Ciudad Real, the capital of the Spanish province of Castilla-La Mancha. Trains are frequent and comfortable and most are AVE or Alvia services. The Avant and Altaria trains that also travel the route are only about 20 mins slower than the fast AVE or Alvia services.
