Zugfahrkarten in Kroatien
Overview
A long Adriatic coastline with hundreds of islands have guaranteed Croatia a prominent place on the tourist map of Europe. With its sapphire waters, Venetian palaces, and Dinaric mountains, visiting Croatia by train is the best way to take in the country’s cultural and visual splendours.
Cheap prices ensure a steady stream of visitors, many looking for sun, sea and sand along the coast. But there’s plenty more things to do in Croatia, including exploring its mountains and many national parks. Croatia boasts a number of fine, culturally rich cities, including its capital Zagreb. But there are many smaller towns which deserve a visit, like the southern port of Dubrovnik and the old city of Varazdin in northern Croatia.
We only sell tickets to Croatia if booked from an international destination. You can book domestic train trips locally. Most train travel in Croatia radiates out from Zagreb, connecting major cities by rail. A notable exception is Dubrovnik, which doesn’t have a train station (the nearest Croatian rail station is up the coast in Split, a 4 hrs bus ride away, although there are nearer stations at Capljina in Bosnia and Bar in Montenegro). Other coastal cities, such as Split, Šibenik and Rijeka, are easily reached by train. Our favourite Croatian rail ride, again bookable locally, is the Zagreb to Split route, following the Lika Railway through desolate limestone terrain.
For travellers approaching Croatia from western or central Europe, there are direct trains to Zagreb from Zurich , Innsbruck, Stuttgart, Munich and Vienna .

The coastal route from Split to Dubrovnik, for instance, offers stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and nearby islands.
