Italian rail operator Thello runs a comfortable, reliable daytime EuroCity service between Marseille and Milan, travelling along the gorgeous French and Italian Riviera, stopping at many of the most popular Riviera resorts en route. At the port city of Genoa, where grit meets grandeur in effortless style, the train turns inland towards the Milan, Italy's financial and fashion capital. This is currently the only route served by Thello during the day. The same company is also known for its excellent overnight EuroNight services which run from Paris to various notable north Italian cities, including Milan, Venice and Verona.

The Thello EuroCity services from Marseille via Nice and Genoa to Milan use Thello-branded Frecciabianca trains, which are part of Trenitalia's sleek, stylish and always comfortable long-distance Frecce fleet.

Classes of service

Thello EuroCity trains provide two comfortable classes of service: Standard Class and First Class.

Thello EuroCity First Class

Seating in First Class is comfortable and spacious on Thello EuroCity trains, with three reclining seats across the central aisle rather than four. There are both airline-style seats as well as seats arranged in twos or fours facing each other across a table. Each seat reclines and is equipped with an electric power socket and a reading light, catering to the needs of both travellers who want to sit back and relax or use their time to work.

Thello EuroCity Standard Class

Seating in Standard Class is in airy open-plan carriages with comfortable airline-style seats generally in pairs across a central aisle. Some seats are arranged in fours to face each other across a table. As in First Class, each comfortable seat reclines and is equipped with an electric power socket and a reading light, perfect for both business or leisure customers.

Child and youth passengers

The definition of "Child" and "Youth" varies by country and operator. This is why we ask for the age of young passengers.

Sometimes children below a certain age can travel without a seat for free. If you want to guarantee a seat for child passengers, enter '6' as the age of the child.
