The main train station in the French town of Chamonix is located in the city center. The station is called Chamonix Mont Blanc and it is serviced by the national railway company of France, SNCF. From the Chamonix railway station, travelers can take the train to reach the Mer de Glace (the “Sea of Glass,” France’s largest glacier and one of the most popular attractions in Chamonix).
Chamonix can be reached by train from Paris, with a change of trains in Bellegarde or Annecy and St Germain des Bains. The total journey time is about 4 hours, depending on the connection time.
