The Benefits of Children & Family
There’s no better way to experience the culture, history and scenery of Europe than with your family. And traveling by train is not only comfortable and convenient, but more affordable than ever! Take a look below to learn about child discounts offered by Eurail and on single-country rail passes.
Eurail Discounts for Children
When traveling with a Eurail pass, children under the age of 4 on the first day of travel, go for free with an adult (18 years or older). Just keep in mind, if the train you are traveling on is crowded, you may need to hold your child on your lap. If you want your child to have their own seat (or bed/couchette on night trains), a separate reservation will need to be made at an additional cost for the child.
New for 2016, up to 2 children between the ages of 4 and 11 can travel for free with an adult. When booking a Eurail pass, be sure to include the children as travelers as they need to be included on the rail pass you are purchasing.
