Trains to Benicassim
It is very easy to get to Benicàssim by train. And there is one very big reason for heading to this resort on the Costa del Azahar: this modest-sized coastal community hosts one of Europe’s premier music festivals each July. The Festival Internacional de Benicàssim (FIB for short) pulls huge crowds for an annual extravaganza of pop, rock, electronica and film. The 2019 festival takes place from 18 to 21 July and will surely be a special occasion: it's the 25th annual outing for FIB.
While FIB is the life and soul of Benicàssim tourism, the resort warrants a visit at other times too. The town has a splendid setting with the arid hills rising up steeply behind the coast. With five wonderful sandy beaches, the town is a good choice for those just looking for a few lazy days soaking up the sun.
Benicàssim lies on Spain’s main east coast rail route from Barcelona to Valencia. The travel time from Barcelona is between 2 hrs 20 mins and 3 hrs. Valencia is just an hour away. Benicàssim is a shade too far to reach in a single day from London. We suggest leaving London late afternoon to connect with the night train from Paris to Toulouse, continuing the next day via Barcelona to Benicàssim. The full journey takes about 20 hours.
