It is very easy to travel by direct train from Paris to Oulx to reach the ski slopes of the Via Lattea, an interesting journey that has its best scenery in the last couple of hours. The train weaves through the valleys of Savoy before entering the Fréjus Tunnel, cutting through the Alps to emerge in Piedmont in Italy.
