TGV
The train journey from Paris to Luxembourg is very easy. The route is served by direct TGVs. If the timings of the direct trains don’t suit your schedules, there are additional options which require a change of train in either Metz or Nancy.
For much of the journey, these trains follow the LGV Est, a new high-speed line running east from Paris which opened in 2007.
Paris to Luxembourg

Direct TGV trains bound for Luxembourg leave from Paris Gare de l’Est. They run through crowded suburbs to join the high-speed line on the fringes of Paris. Then it’s a fast dash east through the Champagne region to Lorraine. The train leaves the high-speed route at the Moselle Valley, following the river north through Metz to Thionville, from where it is just 20 minutes across the border to Luxembourg. The TGV trains from Paris to Luxembourg all make two or three intermediate stops on their journey between the two capital cities.
