Launch of Swiss Travel Pass

Launch of Swiss Travel Pass

Explore the beauty of Switzerland with a Swiss Travel Pass. Read more below about how a pass gives access to Switzerland's world famous public transport network.

With the launch of the Swiss Travel Pass on our website and app (see the new button on our booking search tool), explore all the unparalleled beauty and cultural diversity Switzerland has to offer. With some of the most magnificent train routes in the world, the Swiss Travel Pass allows you to embrace them all, and even better, you get access to an array of boats and bus services too.

What is a Swiss Travel Pass?

With a Swiss Travel Pass you get unlimited travel on trains, buses and boats to reach popular cities such as Bern, Basel, Geneva, Interlaken, Lucerne, Innsbruck, Zurich and Lausanne as well as the country’s greatest natural highlight, the Swiss Alps. With just one small e-ticket, unlock the soaring Alpine peaks, chocolate box towns and world-renowned sports resorts in one of the world’s most beautiful countries.

What’s included?

As well as offering unlimited train travel throughout Switzerland’s efficient rail network, the Swiss Travel Pass includes: free mountain excursions to the likes of Rigi, Stanserhorn and Stoos as well as 50% off most other mountain excursions; free admission to over 500 museums; and public transport in 90 towns and cities. The Swiss Travel Pass and accompanying Swiss Family Card also allows children between 6 and 16, accompanied by at least one parent, to travel free of charge. You can also get discounts on many cable cars

Flexible travel

The pass gives you flexibility in your travels as you can hop on and off trains, buses or ferries at your chosen stops. In general, you can show up at the nearest train station ready to explore a new destination. However, please note that some scenic trains, including the Glacier Express and Bernina Express, require a seat reservation in advance.

How does the pass work?

The Swiss Travel Pass is available in two types: Continuous where you can choose 3, 4, 8 or 15 consecutive days of travel from your first date of travel or Flexible, for the same amount of days but allowing you to freely select the days you wish to travel within a one period month, from time of validation. Once you've selected your pass, its price will depend on the class of service selected, passenger type, number of travel days and the type of pass. Read more about the Swiss Travel Pass here
