Direct summer trains from Amsterdam to Marseille

3 July 2019

Travel direct between Amsterdam and Marseille on Saturdays throughout July and August. Prices from £101.50

These high-speed summer specials, on Saturdays only, between Amsterdam and Marseille, are little known and yet are a joy to behold for anyone who wants to zip from north to south without even thinking about autoroutes or airports. During July and August, leave Amsterdam every Saturday at 07.15 and arrive in Marseille just over 7 hrs later, in time for a late lunch, or an early aperitif, at the Vieux Port. You can also pick up this service in Rotterdam, Antwerp and Brussels. The return train leaves Marseille, also on a Saturday, at 16.01 and arrives in Amsterdam 23.24.

Cultural highlights in Marseille during the summer include the Musée des Civilisations de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée (MUCEM) at the mouth of the harbour and the Five Continents Jazz Festival. Amsterdam can be busy in summer, but it’s so easy to escape the city on one of many day trips by train or by bike of course. Take on one of the Netherlands’ many cycle routes, then head to Marseille and the Med for a very contrasting yet equally uplifting summer European experience.

Child and youth passengers

The definition of "Child" and "Youth" varies by country and operator. This is why we ask for the age of young passengers.

Sometimes children below a certain age can travel without a seat for free. If you want to guarantee a seat for child passengers, enter '6' as the age of the child.
