50% more transactions than usual channels
Rail Europe Partners with EZForex.com to Offer Online Foreign Currency Exchange with Rail Travel
White Plains, NY, August 15, 2005 -- When consumers plan a trip to Europe, they may look for bargains on the big-ticket items like airfare and hotels, but they often purchase several ancillary travel products at the time of booking to ensure that they get the most out of their vacation. With online booking, it's easier than ever to cross-sell and encourage other purchases.
Rail Europe recently added eZforex.com - an online provider of foreign currency -- to its lineup of partners selling such add-on products on the rail supplier's site, www.raileurope.com, much to the mutual benefit of both companies.
“Consumers booking on the Rail Europe site are in a spending mood,” says Evan Shelan, CEO of eZforex.com. “Transactions for currency on www.raileurope.com are averaging 50% higher than our usual channels.”
Rail Europe's site also offers other convenient resources for travelers, such as links to suppliers of international phone cards, luggage, travel clothing, short term car leasing, maps, guidebooks and passport information.
“It's logical that those people smart enough to buy rail tickets here before they go are eager to save time and money by getting their foreign currency here at more favorable rates and without exorbitant fees,” explains Roman Godzich, Vice President of E-Commerce. “We're very selective about which value-added products and services appear on our site. Our current partners offer interesting niche products that fit with European travel, and we're all benefiting from increased business and new customers.”
Rail Europe is the largest North American distributor of European rail and related products, including rail tickets, railpasses, combination rail and rental car passes, and tour products such as cruises on the Seine, mountaintop excursions in Switzerland, transit passes in Paris and London, daytrips, etc.
