- Does the Swiss package include a tour guide?
Nope, tour guides are not included with the Swiss Packages. But considering the warmth of the Swiss people, we could say there will be millions of them waiting for you. - Do I get to choose a specific hotel?
No, but you will get to choose your hotel category. Rail Europe will then book and confirm a hotel from a previously registered grouping in that category. - Do the trains need to be reserved?
Most trains within Switzerland do not require reservations, however scenic trains (Glacier express, William Tell Express, etc.) do. We can help you make these reservations when you book your package. - Are hotels near the stations?
Hotels are always within walking distance or a short taxi ride from the train station, another benefit of rail travel. It’s always best to check with the information desk at local stations for more specifics about hotels. - What is the difference between a 3 or 4 star hotel?
There's little difference between a 3 and 4 star hotel in Europe. Often it only signifies differences in amenities as opposed to overall quality, and does not necessarily mean that the 4-star is much "nicer". We always suggest you consider how convenient the location is, that you look for photos of it online and ask for recommendations from friends before booking any lodging. Do remember to check if your bathroom will be in your room (“en suite”) or down the hall. (That alone could start your own star rating system.)
