Spend time in French-speaking Geneva and tour its exquisite Old Town, deemed Europe’s “best kept secret.” Then travel by rail to Lausanne, “Switzerland’s San Francisco,” with its steep hills and white-capped Savoy Alps that sparkle through building gaps.  Or chill in Montreux, quiet in comparison, unless your visit coincides with its renowned jazz festival. Then it’s on to Zermatt and the breathtaking Matterhorn. Or perhaps a stop in the often-overlooked Saas Fee.  It’s brimming with charming shops and boutiques. Perhaps you’ll decide its time to hit the “glitzy” slopes in Crans-Montana and ski on one of the sunniest plateaus of the Alps in Switzerland. But that’s not the city’s claim to fame. It’s best known for hosting the annual European Masters golf tournament.
