Seating Options

One Economy class trip on the Thalys and you’ll understand what has made taking the train such a popular travel option for people of all ages. Not only does an Economy ticket reserve a seat, but it gives you one with generous legroom and attendants in each car. Simply, you don’t have to suffer to save. And in addition to the scenic outside, there’s the scenic inside. A friendly, comfortable atmosphere and helpful staff that will serve drinks and snacks available for purchase at your seat. Sure, it may be called economy. But only your wallet will feel how inexpensive it really is.

Thalys bar car service

Who can enjoy anything when they’re hungry? That’s why we’ve put extra effort into making sure the Thalys bar car has food and drinks that will do as much to satisfy your appetite for good food as the train does to satisfy your appetite for adventure. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, you’ll find a selection of hot dishes, sandwiches, sweet and savory snacks, salads, hot and cold drinks, as well as organic and fair trade products available for purchase.
Enjoy them at the bar or feel free to take them back to your comfortable seat. Either way, your trip will be that much more delicious.

On Board Services

Thalys on board services

We never want you to feel disconnected from the things that are important to you. That’s why we offer Economy ticket holders great on-board services like WiFi access, which is free with a Semi-Flexible ticket. Or WiFi credits can be purchased in the Thalys bar car. Also available in every train car are phones that accept credit cards.

Services at the Station

With an Economy ticket, no check-in is required. But it is important to remember platforms may close 2-minutes before departure.

Travelers in a wheelchair or with reduced mobility can call the following stations in order to arrange assistance (for departure and/or arrival):

  • Brussels Midi train station: +32 70 79 79 79 (call in advance)
