Meals & Concessions

Scandinavian bar car

Traveling around Scandinavia is already a truly fulfilling experience. But you’ll find most Scandinavian trains have an onboard Café or bar-buffet car to make sure. After all, what would a trip in these parts be without the chance to assemble a meal? (Let’s remember- you’re in the world capital of do-it-yourself furniture.) That’s why you’ll find a bright, cheery, well-stocked restaurant/buffet car on most major routes. With hot and cold meals, light snacks, drinks and goodies available for purchase that can satisfy any taste, adults and children alike. And you can eat right there, or bring it back to the comfort of your inviting seat. All in all, there’s something to savor everywhere.

On Board Services

Depending on the train, on-board services may include special baby care and children’s play areas, on-board radio, pet-friendly compartments or seat sections, cinema cars with recently released movies on some night trains, and special facilities for disabled travelers. You will find free internet on all regional trains in Norway and Pendolino trains in Finland, and simply no luggage restrictions on any Swedish Rail (if you can carry it, you can bring it).

Services at the station

Major stations typically offer a variety of shopping, dining options and an information center.  Smaller stations may only have ticket counters. Check specific station information if you’re interested in a particular service.
