This at-seat dining offers superb, freshly cooked food created by talented chefs. You’ll enjoy a range of seasonal menus that showcases British and local produce at its best. The First Class Restaurant is available during peak hours and offers truly personal service.

What if your seat was so comfortable you decided to snooze through mealtime? Well, there’s the Cafe Bar. With delicious sandwiches and healthy options at affordable prices. Or perhaps you’d like a greater change of scenery. And you thought your ride would just give your eyes something to feast on.

On Board Services

On Board services in First Class include reclining seats to keep you comfortable, more legroom to keep you happy, free WiFi to keep you tuned in, free newspapers to keep you occupied, and a complimentary meal and drinks served at your seat to keep you refreshed. And it all magically happens while you keep going.

Services at the station

You’ll find First Class Lounges at London King’s Cross, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh Waverley, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Darlington, Wakefield Westgate and Doncaster stations. (Note that First Advance and Weekend First tickets are not entitled to use the First Class Lounges. First Advance ticketholders can purchase a £5 supplement ticket that allows lounge access on the day of travel at any East Coast Travel Centre).

First Class Lounges have free WiFi and business facilities including faxes, photocopiers and workstations. Meeting rooms are available at Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh stations. Complimentary refreshments and newspapers are provided in all lounges.
