Bernina Express

Seating Options

This is the last time you will care about what the cabin on the Bernina Express is like. Because you will get on this train, and struggle to keep your mouth from falling open at the sheer beauty of the exterior views. Stunning. Nordic. Even tropical at times. Views that are geographically diverse and delivered in breathtaking clarity through huge panoramic windows. And not just panoramic windows, but a choice of panoramic carriages from Chur to/from Tirano& with glass curving above you. You’re encompassed in Swiss practicality and uber-design. The large, comfortable seats offer generous legroom. There are tables that pop-up at your convenience. You’ll find plenty of room to stretch from Switzerland to Italy, from Alps to palm trees.

Meals & Concessions

The views are among the most scenic in the entire world. The cabin is among the most comfortable. We’ve made sure nothing could distract you from the experience of pure enjoyment. That’s why you’ll find a food trolley and mini bar service on board, offering appropriately alp-inspired cold food and drinks for purchase at your seat. Your pop-up table makes the munching easy. It’s just another reason this journey will be so fulfilling.

On Board Services

While you’re enjoying this scenic ride, an on-board multi-lingual narrator is your guide. These first- and second- class cars feature panoramic windows for you to relish even more of the stunning views en route. Trains are non-smoking and offer roomy seats surrounding central tables, with plenty of room to get up and stretch. Souvenirs of the route are available for purchase.

Services at the station

While station services are abundant throughout Europe, they vary greatly, so none are included in the price of your ticket. You will find that for your convenience, stations in Chur, Tirano, and Lugano offer limited locker rental for a fee.
