Paris Montparnasse Train Station: Gare Montparnasse

The Paris Montparnasse Train Station first opened in 1840. Not long after its opening, a second station was built, between 1848 and 1852. This Paris train station provides service for intercity TGV trains traveling west and south-west of Paris. The Gare Montparnasse also houses a metro station and is credited with having the fastest moving walkway in the world. Please note that the Vaugirard annex (mostly suburban but also regional trains to Granville) requires up to a 10 minute walk from the main portion of the station.
