Tales on Rail: Get to Know Teresa

Hello! My name is Teresa and I will be traveling to Europe for the first time ever in a few days on a Familiarization trip with Rail Europe. This is a type of trip arranged to give those in the travel field first-hand insights and experiences about specific destinations, products & services.

Here’s a little bit about myself…

Here at Rail Europe, I work in the E-Commerce department as a Digital Marketing Specialist in the NY office. I have been with the company for about 6 months, and am still in awe at the fact that I get to work in such an awesome industry. Every day I am learning more and more about traveling through Europe by train, and I can’t wait to experience it firsthand.

In my free time, I like to read, try out new restaurants, spend time outdoors (when it’s not freezing!), and take photos, whether they are of good food and drinks or just surroundings.  I love going new places, and I have always wanted to travel to Europe, so I could not be more excited for this opportunity.

And, a bit about my first trip to Europe…

On my upcoming trip, I will be traveling to different cities throughout Britain and France (using the Eurostar train to get from London to Paris which I am looking forward to riding), with a quick trip to Barcelona on the new France-Spain TGV train. I am very excited to visit Warwick Castle, since I have never had an experience like that, and take tours through Liverpool, Narbonne and Paris.

More than anything, I can’t wait to experience the different culture that each city has to offer and see all of the sights.

I look forward to sharing my first post with you, coming soon!

After having goettn eight Yes, you can answers let me give you a Yes, it may be answer to your question. In most of the 27 European Union countries you are legally capable to conclude valid contracts from an age of 18 years. Being below that age would mean that contracts would need the approval of your legal custodians (parents). If you plan to travel to Scotland however you should not have a problem since you are an adult from the age of 16 years. To book a hotel means to conclude a contract, most hotels don’t care about legal provisions as long as they get their money, but there may also be some who do not allow you to book below an age of 18 or without a statement of parental consent. Some south European countries even require juveniles to hold a statement of the second parent if they travel only with one parent.I would recommend that you hold a statement of your parents authorizing the trip and also stating the value under which you may conclude contracts without obtaining their approval. The easiest way would be traveling with a credit card and a parental statement to use it without limitations.Frequent traveller
