Learn the art of Tuscan cooking on this 5.5-hour market visit and cooking class in Florence. Led by local chefs, visit Florence’s Central Market to choose fresh ingredients and then prepare a classic Tuscan lunch in the cooking school kitchen. Create dishes such as ‘bruschetta’ (tomato-topped grilled bread) and homemade pasta and dessert watched by your chefs, and savor your meal with your fellow cooks and two glasses of Chianti wine before receiving a diploma and recipe booklet.

Make your own way to the start point in central Florence and meet the rest of your like-minded small group and the expert local chefs taking your class.

Then, walk to Florence’s nearby Central Market. Located in a cast-iron 19th-century building, this bustling stall-fest all is a paradise for food-lovers.

Head inside with your chefs and trawl the stands for fresh ingredients. Meet the farmers and other vendors selling everything from fresh meats to local delicacies, and learn how to identify and barter for the best produce.

Then, armed with your goodies, walk to the nearby cooking school, where a typically home-like Tuscan kitchen with elegant, marble-topped islands awaits.

Listen intently as your chefs talk you through the lunch menu for the day. Dishes will vary slightly according to the season and ingredients available, but you can typically expect to prepare bruschetta, different pastas such as tagliatelle or ravioli made from scratch, plus fresh pasta sauces and a dessert.

Pull on your apron and set to work under the watchful eye of your chefs, who will offer helpful guidance along the way. During breaks, enjoy tastings of the ingredients bought at the market, and then, once your meal is ready, take a seat in the dining area.

As you relax over your meal, discuss your efforts with your chefs and fellow cooks, and sip on two glasses of Chianti wine — the perfect complement to your food.

Afterward, receive a recipe booklet so you can recreate your dishes at home and a graduation diploma — both perfect souvenirs.

This was a fun and relaxing day spent learning real Italian cooking. My children really enjoyed making pasta from scratch, and the graduation ceremony is a special touch! The hosts are not stingy with the wine and food, with plenty for everyone. I cook regularly but I still learned new things through this class. We came away eager to recreate this delicious food at home.

My daughter and I loved this tour! The hosts were so fun to work with and we learned so much and we are both experienced cooks. The food we created was delicious and there was plenty to go around. We are not coffee or wine drinkers and they made accommodations for this: we dipped our tiramisu cookies in milk instead of coffee and we were offered soda instead of the wine. I highly recommend this tour!

So much fun. Our chef, Giovanni, taught us to make our own tiramisu, pasta, and 2 sauces. Setting was lovely, attention was good, and food was among the best we had in Italy. Best of all, we got sent home with recipes so we can make it all again! if you're a foodie, this is well worth spending a day of your vacation.

The cooking staff was entertaining and my wife three daughters, and I really enjoyed it. The group was only 21 and they said there was room for 25; I don't think that is realistic once you consider the amount of counter space you need for the rolling pins.

Fantastic, fun and inspiring. Everyone made us feel at home and the food was awesome which we made.3 course we were so full after but well worth going and doing. The market tour with this was really helpful to see what the locals eat and buy, really good truffles in the market place.

What a fun 1/2 day! From the market to the prep, wine tasting and lunch...just a great day doing something I Cook. It really is low pressure for anyone out there like me that really has no cooking skills. Great instructors/chefs give you clear info in a fun setting. I walked away full of food and full of accomplishment. Highly recommend!

Really it was perfect - we had a great Chef, very well spoken and willing to offer lots of tips and tricks. He took us to the market then a short walk to the cooking school. Only complaint is that we ate too much. Would really recommend this one - ten people in the class, we had a great time and learned along the way.

We had a great time and have even recreated the recipes once we got home. We had bruschetta, made raviolis and pasta from scratch and made tiramisu. We toured the market beforehand and got the ingredients for the lunch. The only negative comment would be finding the meeting place. We were using our ph GPS and even then it took a while to locate the meeting place. It might be easier to meet at the market place since that is a central location that is easy to find.
