What You Can Expect

Explore the Champagne region on your day trip from Paris
Explore the Champagne region on your day trip from Paris

Following a morning pickup by air-conditioned minivan from your hotel in Paris, meet your guide and begin your 2-hour journey to Reims. Widely considered the jewel in the crown of the Champagne region, Reims is home to grand boulevards, pre-Roman heritage and, of course, many fine Champagne houses.

On arrival in the city, begin your tour with a visit to Reims Cathedral. Marvel at its Gothic façade and striking stained-glass windows, listen as your guide talks of the many French kings and queens who were crowned here, then head inside to explore its magnificent interior.

Continue on into the rolling, vine-covered hills of the Champagne region to the village of Epernay, nestled deep in the countryside. Visit a traditional vine-grower and — depending on the season — watch the grapes being pressed or the Champagne blended. Sample the finished product for yourself and gain insight into the complex flavors at play in your glass.

After a lunch of regional cuisine at a traditional restaurant in the center of Epernay, head to the world-famous Champagne house of G.H. Mumm. Founded in 1827 by three German winemakers, Mumm is today widely considered the most recognizable Champagne brand in the world.

Listen as an expert winemaker shares insights into the production of Champagne, then visit the cellars to learn the distinctive methods for aging the wine. Enjoy a second tasting session, then hop back into your vehicle for the return journey to your hotel in Paris, where your tour will come to an end.

What a great way to spend a day! Small group and fantastic guide, thank you Riccardo! We went to a champagne vineyard that was family owned and after lunch a major manufacturer, both were educational and fun. The lunch was fantastic! We really enjoyed the stop at Reims Cathedral as well.

From pick-up to drop- off, the trip was awesome, starting with the picturesque views of sprawling hillsides of beauty and then tasting a small champagne entrepreneur and then experiencing Mumms and it's caves of history of fantastic tour. In between a great lunch, walking through Reims cathedral

Loved Fred and all of his friends along the way. Had great time tasting champagne and a delightful lunch. Only complaint would be to go to more houses of champagne. Very enjoyable

I highly recommend this tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and fun, the lunch was excellent and so was the champagne. It was very interesting learning about how champagne is made, and just driving around the little villages in the region was beautiful.

Fred was a knowledgeable and personable guide. We really enjoyed this tour and the contrast between visiting a small champagne producer and a larger one. Lunch at Le Cloche in Epernay was relaxed and very enjoyable. My only suggestion would be less time in Reims and at the Cathedral and more time elsewhere.

Collected on time by our driver Fred. Not a long drive to Reim where we were dropped off to have a look at the Reim Notre Dame. Plenty of time to have a look and wander to get a coffee near by. Then off to a small producer of Champagne to see how they make and a lovely taste. Stopped at a vineyard area and a local spoke about the harvest . Went to a local restraunt for the beautiful 3 course lunch with plenty of wine. In the afternoon went to a larger producer and was taken on a small train trip around the cellers. Then another lovely tasting. Off home having a wonderful day away from the city of Paris

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Paris. Stan was our driver and very good. We met nice couples in the small minivan who we would not have met on a larger trip. The small family vineyard was so much better than the larger commercial one. Recommend it highly.

A very pleasant trip! I enjoyed both tastings (at the family-owned business and at Moët et Chandon) and learned a lot about the champagne making process. The guide and the group were great and we also had a lovely lunch with good food and good wine.

I was picked up, as planned, by a charming young man who in all ways made our trip comfortable and interesting.
The day was delightful; as much as I love Paris, I thoroughly enjoyed this outing to Champagne.
The lunch was beyond my expectations. Wonderful food and wine. Our visits to the caves were informative and the hosts were gracious.

This was exactly as described. A great opportunity to see the Epernay region and experience a small local winery as well as Moet et Chandon. The champagne in the small winery was better than Moet and nothing like the price. Worth doing both. Lunch was in a nice restaurant in walking distance from the Moet winery. The guide was polite and professional and the small group was great.

Great trip to Champagne Region and Rheims as well.
Loved our guide and we had a great social day with a pleasant lunch.
Moêt and Chandon was a treat but we enjoyed our tasting at a small family owned vineyard just as much.

This was our last day of 5 days in Paris...a great way to end our visit with a tour of the champagne district. The van was comfortable with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. We saw both smaller family owned and larger corporate wineries. Both tours were informative and welcoming. Other stops and lunch made the tour exceptional.
