Vatican Sistine Chapel Tour

Art and Architecture of the Vatican

A ceiling beyond compare. Artists known by just one name: Michelangelo, Raphael, Bernini. The Vatican and Sistine Chapel Tour takes up to 12 visitors on a journey through religious and art history. Enjoy a full tour of the Sistine Chapel, including the famed frescos which depict scenes from the Book of Genesis. View the private apartment of Pope Julius II, known for his patronage of the arts and ambitious building projects.

Your tour continues on to St. Peter’s Basilica, which has the largest interior of any church, holding 60,000 people. Find more historically important works, including Michelangelo’s Pieta. Your visit concludes in Vatican Square, home to Michelangelo’s famous dome, and Tuscan colonnades designed with a Baroque approach by his successor Bernini.
