Schilthorn/Piz Gloria
Bond with mountain views? Then it’s got to be Schilthorn.
If you’re a fan of “Bond, James Bond,” then you’ll be a huge fan of Schilthorn in Switzerland —it’s where On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was filmed, and is, of course, home to the world’s longest aerial cable-car system. Here, marvel at the most stirring, panoramic views in Switzerland with over 200 mountain peaks and endless glaciers and lakes. Best of all, this spectacular scene-scape forms the dramatic backdrop to the Piz Gloria, the revolving mountaintop restaurant that pays homage to 007. Inside, 400 seats are arranged on two revolving solar-powered platforms, and its view extends from Mount Titlis to Mont Blanc and far across to the Black Forest. So sit back, relax, and savor the scenery of Switzerland. If you’re an early bird, enjoy the James Bond Breakfast buffet. Time for dinner? Then feast on Spaghetti James Bond. But first, sip a legendary “Martini, shaken not stirred” at the James Bond Bar.
Here’s what’s included:
- Includes round-trip travel from Murren in the Bernese Oberland to the Schilthorn/Piz Gloria mountaintop by cable car.
- Travel along the longest aerial cableway in the Alps, the Schilthorn.
From Interlaken, take the train to Lauterbrunnen, then there are two ways to reach Mürren:
- From Lauterbrunnen, change to the aerial cableway and then take a train to Mürren.
- From Lauterbrunnen, take a postal bus to Stechelberg, then a cable car to Mürren
Both rides take approximately one hour and are covered by the Swiss Pass.
