Sometimes, words cannot do justice. This is the case of the beauty that waits at Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. It starts when you leave idyllic Zermatt for the highest cable car in Europe. Snow can be found 365 days a year, as well as a viewing platform featuring 38 peaks of Swiss, Italian and French Alps. It all begins when you enter the glacier palace through an ice tunnel that’s almost 50 feet below the surface. There, ice statues and a playground featuring an ice slide right through the glacier, greet you. On your ascent, you can choose to stop at Furi, Schwarzsee or Trockener Steg, giving your eyes a chance to acclimate to the splendor of the area. And then you get there; the top of Matterhorn Glacier. Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Even in a place of highpoints, it’s a highpoint.
Here’s what’s included:
- Includes round trip travel to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise from the Zermatt Matterhorn Express base station with a change in Trockener Steg.
- Entrance through an ice tunnel into the glacier palace.
- Glacier palace includes ice statues, panoramic window for viewing of Breithorn and Theodul glaciers, a playground slide through a glacier and the option to walk through a glacier crevasse on your return.
- Access to viewing platform to see the Swiss, Italian and French Alps.
Conditions:
- Discounted fares are only valid with a Swiss Pass or Swiss Card, please refer to the type of rail pass you have when selecting your tickets.
- Child rates are valid for children ages 9 -16.
- Children under 9 are free.
- Children traveling with a Swiss Family Card are free when they travel with a parent or guardian that is traveling with a Swiss Pass. Where noted below, please indicate the number of children that are NOT covered by the Swiss Family Card. Note: these children will be required to purchase a ticket.
- Train Tickets, Swiss Transfer Tickets and Eurail Passes including Switzerland are not valid for rail pass discounts.
- Train tickets are valid for six months from the date of purchase.
- The cable-cars between Trockener Steg and Matterhorn Glacier Paradise will not operate on April 29 to May 10, November 5 to November 9, nor November 12 to November 16 due to maintenance work.
- Prices are subject to change.
The voucher can be exchanged at the Matterhorn Express base station in Zermatt.
